1. The Sound of your Vows
Being able to relive the moment of you hearing the vows you make on your wedding day is something special for both you, the guests who were there, but most importantly, to the loved ones who weren’t able to be there. A quality videographer will have a microphone that is discreet enough to be hidden, and high quality enough to capture the audio in the best way possible. You’ll be able to hear inflections in your voice, and the whispers that show the love and devotion (and nerves) you have when you are up there to show the world how much you love your spouse. On board audio from your uncles camcorder just can’t do that.
2. The Toasts at the Reception
There is nothing that will wrench your heart and soul like seeing a proud daddy not being able to complete a sentence during a toast because he’s so incredibly proud to see his baby girl grow up and be so successful. These are the moments when no words say so much more than the most brilliant of speeches.
3. Seeing Your Grandparents Dance to their Song at your Reception
Now I don’t mean JUST your grandparents. I mean every adorable couple that you know. You know when you’re dancing at your wedding, there’s a lot of love in the room. Your parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers are there to celebrate with you and, in many cases, relive what it was like to dance at their own wedding many years ago. Twenty years from now, when you’re showing your grandchildren what it was like at your wedding, you’ll be able to show them the people they might not have had a chance to meet.
4. Seeing the Preparation or the Guests Interacting When You’re Not Around.
There is an awful lot of stuff that is going on while you’re busy getting all dolled up for the ceremony, or when you’re out taking photos. Video allows you to experience a lot of the things you aren’t able to see on the day of the wedding. Often couples will see things they didn’t even know where at the wedding. Sometimes even people!
5. Hear the Songs and See the Dances That Were Cool When You Got Married
Whether you’re going to admit it or not, the songs you are listening to right now MAY not be the coolest thing on the planet 10 years from now. I know how cool you think Katy Perry is at the present time, but your children may get a kick outta making fun of you for listening to Ke$ha when they get an earful of her musical stylings. If it was up to me, I’d make sure the Cupid Shuffle gets played at every wedding for the next 30 years, but in case it doesn’t, you can remember how you looked when you attempted to do the “Charlie Brown”. Oh, and if you don’t know what it is, you can reference this video.
6. Being Able To See His Face When He Sees You Over Again
There is nothing like seeing your bride, or seeing your groom for the first time on your wedding day. Whether you have a private first look, or if you make eye contact on opposite ends of a long aisle, being able to witness that moment again, or show your friends and family again is beyond priceless.
7. Special Moments
Your neice singing a song, your fraternity sisters singing a song for you or your cousins dancing a routine.
8. Let Your Guests Enjoy Your Wedding Fully
Many people can’t help but bust out their cell phones at your wedding to capture events to tweet about. Having a professional whose sole purpose is to document your day means your guests can stow the cameras and simply sit back and take in the moment. Why doesn’t the bride take a few pictures from the alter during the ceremony? Well, she’s concentrating on every little aspect of that moment: The way he looks, the feeling of him steadying your trembling hands in his, the sound of the minister’s voice. You are doing everything you can to breathe in the moment, and you know that a professional is capturing every little detail. Your guests should have the freedom to do the same.
9. An Anniversary Tradition
Having a great cinematic wedding video that you can watch on your anniversary really helps to remind yourselves why you love each other so much.
10. Share the Video with EVERYONE!
Having a wedding video allows you to share your love and adventure of life with everyone. This is a tremendous thing that allows you to share one of the most amazing days in your life with people in a way you could never do before. Your children, grand children, new friends and family can experience your day as if they were there with you.
